frame care

help your frame stay beautiful for as long as possible

store your frame in a cool, dry, and dark place. keep them away from direct sunlight as they are susceptible to fading. do not store any glass on your window sills as it can refract light and become a fire hazard.

to prevent mold, do not store them in bathrooms or basements with high humidity. if you find mold in your specimen, wipe it off with a cotton swab dipped in acetone and let it dry for a few days before putting it back together again.

this is an extremely rare issue, but pest damage can sometimes occur (book lice, carpet beetles, or mites). if you notice dust-like specks in your frame, this may be a sign of a book lice infestation. take your frame outside immediately, tap off the particles, and leave your frame in the freezer for a week.

check your frame often. our frames (with the exception of double glass frames) are not glued shut and can be opened for maintenance.
